Toronto Beach Chorale 2010/11 Season
Duruflé Requiem
Friday, April 22, 2011
Our third season concludes with Toronto Beach Chorale celebrating life and the return to light in the lyrical, hope-inspiring and peaceful Requiem by Maurice Duruflé with orchestra, and featuring mezzo soprano Heather Jewson and baritone James Levesque. Also on the program are Duruflé’s Quatre Motets whose contemplative settings beautifully complement the Requiem.
Good Friday, April 22, 2011 7:30 p.m. at Kingston Road United Church, 975 Kingston Road, Toronto (near Victoria Park).
“Musical Contrasts”
Sunday, February 27, 2011
Toronto Beach Chorale will sing the amazing soundscapes created by the choral music of the Renaissance which contrasts with 20th century music for flute and piano, featuring our special guests, Doug W. Miller, flute, and Erika Reiman, piano. You can lose yourself in the harmonic waves in 8-part harmony of Lotti's Crucifixus or in the ethereal Allegri Miserere and Palestrina's Missa Aeterna Christi Munera. In between these, refresh your aural “palate” with Francis Poulenc's Sonata for Flute and Piano and Øistein Sommerfeldt’s Spring Tunes op.44 for Flute Solo.
Sunday, February 27, 2011 7:30 p.m. at Kingston Road United Church, 975 Kingston Road, Toronto (near Victoria Park).
